Playtest July 23rd

Dev Team|June 29, 2026

Another Playtest. Another Step Forward.

We're excited to announce another playtest on July 23rd. The team has been working hard on all the bugs the last playtest revealed but the test isn't just bug fixes, it's also many core new systems we want early feedback on.

What's New

Player Vision System. How much you can see and how you can be seen taking a more tactical implementation. The new system adds positioning and cover. The video attached is an exaggerated version built for showcase purposes.

Crafting & Refining Station Visuals & Interactions. The stations got a proper pass. Better visual feedback, improved interaction feel. If you found them rough to use in May, this is an update working to improve this.

Crafting & Refining Station improvements

Player & Cart Locomotion Overhaul. Movement has been reworked for both player and cart. Cart life players will notice a more immersive and enjoyable carting experience.

Updated Player & NPC Navigation. The navigation system has been rebuilt. Expect fewer cases where characters get stuck, path weirdly, or slide through geometry.

Weapon Auto Attack Sound Effects. Sound is half the feel of combat. Auto attacks now have proper SFX, bringing the feedback loop of swinging a weapon closer to where it needs to be.

Weapon Ability VFX. It is time to start replacing placeholder VFX. First up: the Greatsword spin - see the attached video for an early look at it in action.

Player Building System Overhaul. One of the bigger implementations this playtest. The building system has been rebuilt from the ground up. Placing, snapping, and rotating structures is a core part of how players control areas.

Tier 1 Outpost Base - Walls & Watchtowers. An early version of the first tier of player-built fortifications is in. Base Camp, palisade walls and watchtowers are placeable, giving factions the tools to start controlling the battlefield.

Faction Minions. While we work on the real faction minions, we will be borrowing primelings to hold their spots. Take a peek at the primelings you will see for this test and the concept art for the actual Faction Minions.

Where Do We Go From Here?

July's test is about testing core features early while getting feedback. The building overhaul, the new vision system, the locomotion changes, station interactions and first PvE fights.

As always, the feedback portal is where your reports go. Detailed write-ups, single-sentence observations, screenshots, all of it helps. See you on the 23rd.
